WHERE THE WIND THINKS
This piece breathes the past, like a fragment of memory suspended in time. The cormorant’s gaze, turned elsewhere, suggests a moment of pause — almost human — suspended between nostalgia and contemplation. It reflects what I love in Sauvage’s work: a nature that becomes a mirror of the human experience. The animal seems lost in its thoughts, as we so often are, far from the noise of the world. The smoked wood integrated into the composition grounds the piece in material and time, evoking erosion and the stories carried by the sea. Together, they create a meeting point between strength and fragility, between presence and memory.
